Wow, I'm feeling so lucky to be a part of so many GREAT beginnings. I have quite a few projects on deck and learning to juggle work with being a SAHM has been quite the lesson in time management.
I recently just finished a fun branding and blog update for a former co-worker turned friend. She runs a blog called Muddling Momma. To know Jackie is to love her- I mean it! She is 100% down to earth and is alway ready to try something new. Her blog is cheeky look at motherhood and she wanted something fun and playful without being to childish or kid focused. No primary colors and alphabet blocks for her brand! We worked through mood boards on Pinterest and I worked through several concepts for her. One was a take on Rosie the Riveter that I loved, it wasn't right for Jackie, but I'm saving the illustration for a future project. I developed three concepts for her after doing quite a bit of research around muddling and Mom imagery. Like I said earlier, her blog name is cheeky because she isn't muddling at all. She works, raises a family, listens to great music, is a newbie runner, runs a successful diaper charity and has awesome adventures with her son. I wanted to counteract the negative word muddling with positive BAD ASS imagery.
I played with the triangle shape to create mountains which represent conquering. Simple shapes, powerful reasons. The colors however are playful, youthful and not that serious. The bold block fonts are a little hardcore and tough. Combined it truly represented her brand. This was such a great project to work on and learned a new skill as this was my first time truly using wordpress and building out some custom CSS. Thanks for trusting me to bring your brand to life Jackie.
